Question.....
And my goodness, people are sure posting some pretty ugly things about Star, Barbara & Rosie. It really shows people's "true colors" when they call names & say such awful things. Now granted, I didn't like Star; her laugh got on my nerves. We're talking fignernails down the chaulkboard people! But I'm not going to question what she is saying or not saying. I do wish she'd stop dancing around her weight loss issues.... she says she can't lie about what happened at the View even though they asked her to but she isn't fully honest about how she lost her weight. I guess it's really no one's business but it just sounds "fishy" & it makes me question her as a person.
Really, best of luck to Star, Barbara & The View. I don't see it doing very well once Rosie joins; I know I won't be watching much. I don't like who Rosie is as a person; no her choice of life isn't the reason as I do think to each his/her own; but I guess how she addresses things & behaves.... it's hard to explain.
Anyway, like her, don't like her but for Pete's Sake; stop being ugly, mean & hateful about it. (You can read the comments here & here.) There are more important things in life than making sure you let everyone know that you think Star Jones is a bug-eyed liar & that Rosie is a fat cow from........ well you can insert your thoughts there. Why do people get such a thrill out of bashing people like this??? Seriously, get off your tush & go do something outside or go read a book but do grow up a little.

Thursday Thirteen #7
Header credits to CHAOTIC HOME |
1. Exercise............ I don't know why I can't ever seem to find the time to do this but I have to start making that a priority. It takes me 68 mins to do the "Burn" routine, mins to do the "Sculpting" & my crunches. I think it's the time frame that does it. The kids don't seem to want to sit & watch a movie while I get this done. I've tried waiting until quiet time but that's right after lunch & well who wants to exercise after you eat? I'll eventually get this all figured out. I hope. 2.*DONE: Although with all the cleaning I'll probably need another one before bed.* Shower & get dressed.......... duh but that it also a chore in itself sometimes. Again, I have to beg the kids to allow me this simple 10 min thing. Then I get sidetracked & leave my hair up in the towel too long & well my bangs look all goofy. Make up? Forget about it most days. 3. *Almost done but it's time to let the kids blow off some steam in the pool so I'll have to try to finish later* Clean the kitchen; yeah it's looking pretty gross in there & I don't mean just the counters & floor. The cabinets need wiped down inside & out as well as the drawers. The tupperware cabinet is frightening as everything falls out when I open the door. I've begged numerous Christmas' & Birthdays for that spin/stacking tupperware thing but no one seems to want to get it for me. *pout* 4. Clean the Living Room which includes Xachr's desk. One of these years I will break down & purchase a computer amoire which will hide this grotesque mess. He has I don't know how many boxes of software just stacked ontop of his desk. It's really embarressing & it's what everyone sees first thing when walking into our house. Despite his attitude; I think it's time to move it back in the far corner near the back door. At least there it's not a focal point. We'll see if he lets me do it. The rest of the living room isn't in bad shape but I need to move the couch & loveseat so I can retrieve lost toys & vaccuum. 5. Sort toys in the kid's bedrooms. Pac-Cr is missing some of his Galactic heroes & MPire figures. I know they have to be stashed in someone's room. And I noticed Neo-pa's stuffed animals have taken over her closet again. 6. *DONE* The Linen closet is buggin me. It's such a mess. Someone, Xachr, doesn't seem to think it matters if the towels are put up, upside down. And I'm sorry it looks tacky! But things have just kept getting "stuffed" in there that I just need to tidy it up. 7. *DONE* My closet; there are clean clothes on the floor in there because Xachr won't hang things up if he changes his mind. Seriously, he'll pull out a pair of pants, decide they aren't the ones he wants & then throw them on the floor. It's annoying! The suitcases from our trip in March are still on the floor because I'm too short to put them on the top shelf. I'd love to really get a different closet layout from The Container Store 8. *DONE & I did the kid's bathroom as well* Then I need to do some cleaning out under the bathroom sink & drawer. It's such a cluttered mess that I honestly don't know what to do about it. The Container Store has a lot of neat gadgets that would help me but MAN they are pricey! 9. *WORK IN PROGRESS* My desk....... you don't even want to know about my desk do you? Perhaps I should take a picture but then you'd see what a slob I am. I don't know why my desk is the hardest thing for me to keep clean; but it is. I have so much shredding to do too. 10. *DONE* The Master Bedroom. I have piles of things that I need to tend to. My chair is never empty & inviting for someone to sit in. It usually houses all the clothes I need to hang up & put away. It's the first thing most people see when walking down the hall; that & my desk. 11. I'd like to start cleaning the carpet. It's nasty & gross & I hate it. I would like nothing better than to rip the carpet out & just stain the foundation until we can afford to put wood flooring down. That's years in the future btw. *sigh* Take my advice NEVER EVER NEVER get light tan carpeting. Even if it's just you! Everything stains it. Water is it's worst enemy! 12. *DONE, let's not talk about how much I spent on a cabinet/shelf thing for my bathroom* Grocery shop. Yep I have to hit the grocery store sometime today. Neo-Pa wants to make Xachr an icecream cake tomarrow & we are going to visit the Dallas Zoo & Aquarium on Saturday so I need get things to make a picnic lunch & get water. 13. *Heading out NOW**DONE* Take the kids swimming. Of course we'll probably do that around 10:30 or 11 this morning. We did that yesterday & it was fun. When it's just my 3, I can sit at the table to watch them & read. I do more watching than reading as I worry about Pac-Cr going under but he does fine. Now, would you like to guess what doesn't get done out of that list as it is 8:30 & I'm still sitting here in my walking clothes???? I guess I better get after it before Pac-Cr wakes up; which should be any minute now. I've already had enough to deal with on the fighting between Col-Cr & Neo-Pa this morning to last me a month. *sigh* How many more days until school starts???? *Updated at 7:22pm........... *Updated at 9:29pm............ *Updated at 3:13pm 6/30/06...... Monday Memories
We love Sea World! Our first visit was in April 1992. It's where we chose to go for our honeymoon. I'm so lucky that Xachr & I have so much in common that when asked where I wanted to spend our honeymoon, he had no problem with it.
The park was totally different that year. There was a huge map of America where Xachr wanted his picture on the state of California as that's where he wants to one day live. {Maybe someday, but not with me.}

At one time in my life, I lived in Colorado Springs, Colorado & I WILL make it back there. My dream is to one day just live up in the moutains. That's where my Mom wants her ashes spread & how could I do that & leave her there? You see the ring of flags in the background....... they are still there along with the huge map, but you can't tour that part of the park. It's closed off now & I guess only used for concerts & such. There was also a big part of the park that was just a wooded nature walk with statues of historical figures & beautiful waterfalls. All of that went to the water park, which is nice but I miss the nature walk too.

I don't know why I love Sea World like I do but something just moves me when we view the Shamu show. This is a picture of Shamu during our visit in 2004. By the end of the show they had 7 or 8 killer whales in the tank; two or more on each side stage area & 3 doing jumps in the tank. Tears come to my eyes every time I see these majestic animals & I long to meet one up close. I could sit & watch this show over & over again. The trainers don't get in the water as much as they use to & do jumps with the whales; but it's still stunning to see.
The dolphin show has changed from just a simple jump show to this awesome musical & acrobatic show with people spinning on ribbons & smoke. It's really entertaining; sadly my pictures didn't turn out on that one. But the costumes were reptile in style & bold colors. Definately something I hope continues.

This is us in 2004. It was one of the best vacations we've ever had. We met up with our friends who live near Houston. We got a 2 bedroom/2 bath hotel room with mini living room & kitchenette. It was great & we so enjoyed spending the weekend with our friends. We went to Sea World both Saturday & Sunday; there's so much that there's no way to see & do it all in one day. We had splurged & gotten season passes as they were not but $10 more than the 2 day ticket price and in September we went back for a family weekend.
Our trip in 2004 we for the first time tried their water park. It was fun only I had to stay in the kiddie pool with the little 2 while Xachr & Col-Cr did all the other water stuff. They said it was a blast. Neo-Pa got to touch a dolphin in the feedint pool & Pac-Cr saw his first ever dolphin up close & he got so tickled that he would squeal with delight. (He was almost 2) We spent hours at the feeding pool. The kids freaked out at the shark exhibit. Something eerie about seeing them that close. Even though there is a huge wall of glass; it's still ookie.
Since our first trip in 1992, Sea World added rollercoasters one is called the Great White, which is one of those that your feet dangle down (don't know the tech term there sorry folks) & the other is the Steel Eel. In 2004, Col-Cr rode his very first rollercoaster; Steel Eel. The guy holding his hands up is Xachr & Col-Cr was seated beside him, eyes closed & holding onto the rail for dear life. After that first ride, he rode it 10 more times in a row. I rode it maybe 3 times, Xachr maybe 5 & he rode it alone for 2. He was too short to ride the Great White but now that he's ridden the Batman at Six Flags; it should be a snap next time we go.We were hoping to make our way to Sea World this year but it doesn't look like we'll be able to. I'm a little heart broken but I'll survive. Col-Cr really wants to go to the Alamo & they have a great zoo; so maybe next year we'll take a 4 day weekend & go. Until then, I feed my addiction by watching the underwater cam at the Orlando Sea World. :-)

Father's Day Review
We had a fabulous Father's Day here!I wasn't able to do a Monday Memory as we were at the zoo all day with some friends but maybe this will work as well..........
In May of 1999 we moved to DFW from our home town of Abilenee. I got pregnant with Neo-Pa that August & met a wonderful group of women all due to have babies in April 2000. So I've known this group of special woman for almsot 7 years now. I've been able to meet 2 as one lives in Texas, just down south. Another one's husband was in town for business & she came too. This week I've gotten to meet another dear friend who lives in Tennessee. They decided to come see what Texas was all about & meet us. :-)
Sunday they came over for a bbq & the kids swam & played all day. It was so much fun! DonnaC has 3 kids; a daughter who is going into 3rd grade, another daughter who is same age as Neo-Pa & a 2 yr old little boy. All the girls are getting along great. Pac-Cr & her son are doing well & sharing pretty good. Col-Cr has had so many girls climbing all over him that he's begged me to send him to his Grannies but that's just to get more attention from the girls. We also had a couple & their daughter over on Sunday who just moved here from Louisana, we know them through church; sorta. So we had 13 people & it was great!
Yesterday Donna & her crew came back over (they are in a timeshare up in Bridgeport, Tx & that's an hour away from us) and we spent the day at the Zoo. Had a blast. Xachr missed out on all the fun as he had to work. Tomarrow he is calling in ill & we're going to spend the day with them before they head back to Tennessee. But I can't tell you how much fun it's been!
Donna introduced me to Flylady & has helped me become a better SAHM & get more together in my cleaning. She's been super to help motivate me to move more & start to lose some weight. (She's lost a lot & is looking AWESOME! I almost didn't want to have my picture taken with her yesterday.) I'm going to miss them all like crazy when they go home. Thank goodness for unlimited long distance & yahoo msngr!
I hope everyone had a great Father's Day & weekend! :-)

I WANT YOU!!!!!

Ok my dear friends; all kidding aside for the moment........
While surfing blogs awhile back I came across Rough Draft This gentleman is looking for 2,995 bloggers to help him honor the victims of 9/11. You can read all the details on his website.
After reading his blog, it took me awhile to decide if I could even come close to giving a fitting tribute to one of the victims. I prayed about it, I talked to Xachr about it. I thought, will I have the time to research & write about this person. Would my pitiful writing talent even come close to honoring this individual who lost their life in such a tragic way.......... I finally decided last night that I can & need to do this.
I hope, my dear friends, that you will find it in your heart to join in too. Please go to Rough Draft, read about it, think about it & pray about it. This button will also take you to his site & that's on my sidebar.

PS. I thought I had figured out how to make the button clickable on my sidbar; but I didn't. Could someone help me please?????

(outside of our heavenly Father, of whom has blessed me greatly) 1. ![]() My 3 Amigos.......... life would definately be dull & boring without these three. (Is it time for school to start yet???) Seriously, Col-Cr will be turning 10 in a few short weeks. *sob* He has been such a trooper about getting up with me in the mornings & walking. He's started riding his bike instead, but I have deeply loved & treasured our special time together in the mornings. Neo-Pa is a 6 year old DIVA! And boy howdy does she think she's the Mom. When Xachr's Grannie died in April of 1999, we had Neo-Pa the following April & we honored her memory by having Neo-Pa's middle name be their last name; which is a popular girls name; Allison. It was one small way to keep Grannie with us. Pac-Cr will turn 4 in August, my goodness how the time flies, & he was a surprise gift from God & I'm so thankful for that blessing. We honored my Grandparents by putting my maiden name as his middle name & it warms my heart everytime we see them to hear the pride in their voice. They always call him by his first & middle name because they are so proud that I honored them. As there are no boys, my last name ends except now. And of course, Xachr. He is my rock, my best friend, my heart, my everything. He is an awesome Dad & a pretty good husband. He works so hard to provide for this family so I can remain home with the kids. We have so much in common & that just sweetens the relationship. I'm so blessed! 2. ![]() This is Isabeau, Izzy for short. We brought her home on February 14, 2005. She is a 2 year old Golden Retriever mix of some sort. She showed up at a friend's house in Spring, Tx & after a week of trying to find her owner they decided to take her to the pound. Well I just couldn't live with that, so Xachr & I drove down there one Sunday while a friend watched the kids for us. They had no idea what we were doing & so 10 hours later when we drove up & walked in with Izzy, they totally flipped out. She is a WONDERFUL dog & I just couldn't imagine my life without her. She is great with the kids; loves anyone that comes in the house; although she does bark which hopefully makes people wonder so I feel safer with her here. She has also become my walk buddy, along with Col-Cr; how could I say no to her sweet face & wagging tail at 6am every morning??? She does have a few weird quirks, like she won't go potty in the back yard unless I physically walk out there with her & wait. Not fun to do if it's a cold morning!
This is Harry Potter. We originally started out with 3 bettas, Harry, Dory & Pat. Sadly; Dory & Pat have gone to the big fish bowl in the sky after being with us for a year. Harry is about to celebrate his 2nd year in our home. He is Col-Cr's but I keep him in the living room with the others so I can keep an eye on his food intake. When Harry flares, a beautiful shade of purple shows through his red scales. Of cousre you know bettas are those Japanese Fighting Fishes & one must never put 2 in a bowl together or they will fight until one is killed. I have seen people put them together at WalMart & we immediately do what we can to seperate them. People make me so mad sometimes! This is Thunder. He is a fancy fringed tail betta, smokey blue in color with some red in his fins. He is flaring in this picture. Flaring is what bettas do to "impress" their rivals. Their tail & spine fins fan out, their throat puffs out & their color gets very vivid. You put 2 bettas side by side & they will flare at one another for hours. Or sometimes when I'm bored I'll put a mirror beside ours. I don't do this for long as it does tire them out. Thunder also flares at me when he's hungry. This is Lightning, he is yellow with a teal blue at the base of his fins. I have never seen a yellow betta before & so when I saw him sitting on the shelf at WalMart, of course he was going to come home with us. He is GORGEOUS when he flares but getting a good picture of it is hard. Just take my word for it. This is Neptune. When our friends moved up north they did not wish to travel with him so we took him in. He is solid blue & much bigger than my other bettas. He loves to make bubbles at the top of his bowl, which is called a nest. The male bettas are the ones that take care of the eggs until they hatch. He can nest all he wants, I'm not about to try my hand at mating bettas! This is Lovey. Neo-Pa & I found him sitting on the shelf at WalMart & we just couldn't resist. He is a beautiful red with white tipped fancy fringed tiped fins. Lovey *loves* to eat & every time I walk by his bowl, he is dancing around & flaring at me. I think he'd eat all day long if I let him.
A local greenhouse had these on sale & I just couldn't resist. I've never tried my brown thumb with Tropical Hibiscus before. So far they are looking good. I have this in a nice square pot on our back patio. It gets the morning sun & not so much of that burning afternoon heat. I have been having trouble with a lot of the buds yellowing & falling off before they bloom. Not sure what's up with that so hopefully the plant food I got for the gernaimus will help them too. I'm wanting to get a red one but will wait to make sure I don't kill these off first. I saw a hibiscus tree & thought that might be nice; so long as being in a pot is ok for it. Sadly, the heat is doing a number on my geraniums, I had 5 huge & beautiful pots of geraniums. If I can just keep them alive until fall; I know they will bounce back. I don't know why, but I love geraniums. White is about the only color I think I am missing. I purchased some Miracle Grow potted plant food so I'm hoping that will help them survive.

Monday Memories

![]() |
…...Well Thanksgiving day November 22, 2001 has got to be the BEST Thanksgiving we've ever had! A few months prior through soccer; we met a wonderful family. They had moved here from Colorado & were almost a bigger fan than me. (Shocking I know) We had gone to there house to watch Monday Night Football & have dinner. She made Bronco pasta! Yep, they have NFL pasta for your teams people! Isn't that a hoot?? At the beginning of November the Dad calls with an offer we just coun't refuse. Seems he had 2 extra tickets to the Cowboy/Broncos Thanksgiving Day game & would we be interested?? Then the cherry on top was his wife was wanting to babysit Col-Cr & Neo-Pa for us. We even had transportation to the game. It was SO COOL! Not that we hadn't been to a football game before, years prior; but to go on such a big game & not have to flip a coin over who's family we were going to first & all that driving. We get to the game & had our halftime show instructions, Creed was performing & we had red & blue signs to hold up at certain times so there was at least a 30 min instructional period. We were surrounded by fellow Bronco fans. Instead of turkey & dressing we gobbled up hotdogs that were THE BEST! Of course nothing can compare to my Granny's dressing, but this came pretty darn close! It was a GREAT game with the Broncos winning it 26-24. And wouldn't you know it, Cooper was born 9 months later. ;-) Don't think anything could ever beat that Thanksgiving! (See how easy I am to please?) Use your "smarts"
We all know the "grief" I give Bill Cowers & his Pittsburgh Steelers during the season. Lil Ben got into some trouble this morning; seems he was out riding his motorcycle & had an accident. He went into surgery & it appears he is doing ok. In stable condition. You can read the details here. I am praying that Ben will be ok but at the same time, I'm shaking my head. It is just complete ignorance to not wear your helmet. Our neighbor, Mike, doesn't wear one either & I've lectured him. I'm a good 5 years younger, but my kids look up to him. The least he could do is wear it down & around the corner.
Getting off my soapbox, as mini as it is............

She-Pa's Summer Movie Review

OH MY GOSH!!! Now granted, I don't get out to the movies often. The last movie I saw was Narina & the one before that was Harry Potter & the Goblet of Fire. BUT if you watched & liked the 1st 2 X Men movies; you gotta, gotta, GOTTA see this one! This movie TOTALLY rocked! Had a good number of surprises in it that blew me away. I was told to stay until the end of the credits; I was the only one left in the theater & the cleaning crew stood at the door waiting & I'm soooooooo glad I did! IF YOU SEE THIS MOVIE, DO NOT LEAVE BEFORE THE CREDITS ARE DONE, YOU WILL MISS SOMETHING!!!! (Thanks Janet for your tip!)
Sadly, due to previews the movie didn't start at 7:00 like we thought; or 7:10; it started at 7:20 so at 8:50 Xachr had to duck out to get the kids from church & he was TICKED OFF! I stayed & watched the last 15 mins alone. I'm grateful he let me do that even if I had to listen to him whine about it the rest of the night.
My reviews: I give it 2 thumbs up!!!! And a high 5!
If you see Cars; please let me know how it was. We are thinking about taking Neo-Pa & Pac-Cr while Col-Cr is off at church camp 7th-10th. And if I have to go alone; I am going to see Pirates of the Carribean 2! I can get over being in a crowd by myself for that flick! :-)

GROSSS *gag*
"Mom! The redladybug hermit crab is dead!" And off she goes running back to her room
Great!!!!!!!! *sigh* So I follow her into her room & look into their cage & there it is; hanging out of it's shell. *gag* Where is Xachr when I need him? I soooo did not want to touch that! Taking a deep breath I reached in & picked up the shell; the "crab" falls out....*gag* but the worm like body was not there so I flipped the shell over & looked inside & there it's pale grey claw was protecting the opening. *whew*
"Sweetie, it isn't dead. It shed it's skin." *gag* "See, he's still in there."
"Are you sure Mom?"
"Yes I'm sure" then to prove to her it wasn't dead I gently touched the claw with the tip of the pencil to get it to move & prove to her it was still alive. It moved just a little bit. "See, he moved. Shedding their skin is normal & very tiring. I'm sure he'd appreciate it if I'd put him back in his hut & let him rest. His new skin is very soft & easily damaged so we'll have to make sure the other crabs don't bother him for a few days." I put him back in the hut & turned the opening to where the other crabs might not go in.
I decided it was time to wash the new shells we had gotten & get them in the cage in case he was wanting a new one. So we pulled them all out, well I did him first; he never popped out & enjoyed his bath but I didn't want the other ones to bug him. Then while I cleaned their cage I put him on a soft towel in a bowl. Got them all bathed & put back. Putting the weak one in his hut again.
Later that day Neo-Pa comes running to me. "MOM! The redladybug changed shells with the brown one!" Thought that's odd. Why would the 2 swap shells like that; but indeed they did.
This morning, another one decided it didn't like it's shell & hopped into one of the new ones. I just hope I never have to see another empty "skin" for awhile. That was gross! And they don't recommend that you take it out of there because they eat it....... GROSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!! But we've been able to keep the 6 ones alive for a few months now & I'm tempted to get a bigger aquarium for the living room with all these cool "toys" they have out for hermit crabs & get more.
Me thinks I'm getting obsessive!

Not that anyone will find this to be a BIG surprise; but Blogger is being a booger again today!! I've been visiting TT's off & on today & I can't comment but on 1/2 of them. I will try to go back & try again later but if I linked & didn't comment; please don't get upset; it's Blogger's fault!!!! :-)

Thursday Thirteen #4
![]() Header credit to Kelly |
1…. A friend's marriage is in trouble due to a "joke" txt message. Said friend & family will be here the weekend after next & I sooooooooo wanna pommel him. 2..... Pac-Cr actually went into his bathroom by himself & pottied. I was SHOCKED! No potty accidents in the last 24 hours. Will this continue???? 3......Col-Cr & I have gotten up every morning since Memorial Day & walked at least 1.5 miles. 4...... Izzy had a diarreha accident on the living room carpet. That was NOT fun. 5...... Pac-Cr has been running around the house telling everyone that he's gonna kick their butts. I just know he got this from SpongeBob so that is now off limits. He got in trouble a few weeks back at church when he told his teacher "What? You wanna piece of me?" Although I think that's a scream she did not & kicked him out of class. Can you imagine my horror if he tells her he's gonna kick her butt on Sunday??? 6..... I found a relator's business card on my neighbor Mike's fridge. He's currently out of town with his new "squeeze" who is going to move to Paris in the next few months. I just know he's going to move with her & I'm going to just die. He's the best neighbor a person could ask for. He's not yet divorced & he told me he hated Paris (can you believe that?) so I have a small thread of hope. 7......Xachr's Nana is going in for a colonscan next week; she thinks she has cancer but the Dr didn't say that they were looking for anything like that; just said it was time to get it done. MIL & FIL are both at their wits ends with her (she's losing it) & I get to hear about it while Xachr is at work. Lucky duck! 8...... It would appear for now that the lunatic buggin my Mom has backed off some. He hasn't done anything since he broke into her mailbox & spray painted her car back around Mother's Day. So I've not been so stressed out. 9..... Our Zoo membership to the Abilene Zoo have not arrived yet & the check cleared last week. Wondering how long to wait before I call. Was really wanting to use them soon & go to the Dallas Aquarium. 10.....Friday is Kid's Night Out at Church. Neo-Pa & Pac-Cr will be going there while Col-Cr goes to a friend's house to hang out & maybe spend the night. Instead of going to dinner like we had planned; Xachr & I are going to go see XMen III. We drop the kids off at 6:00 & the movie starts at 7. It's only 1hr & 44 mins long; surely we'll be done with it in time to get the kids picked up by 9pm. Although,, the kid in me kinda wants to go see "Cars". 11.... A "friend" has asked me to assist him in reading Rick Warren's The Purpose Driven Life & I'm not entirely sure I should. To those that have my "vent" blog be looking for a post on that soon. I could use some advice. 12.....I found out today that I can NOT sew to save my life. Mom had tried to help me make a fitted top sheet for Pac-Cr's toddler bed back in March. I thought I'd use the left over fabric to make a pillowcase. I took me over an hour to figure out how to thread my machine, then I knew to sew it inside out but didn't do it so I had to rip out 3 of the seems. Finally got it done & it's 5 inches too big. *sigh* I also made 2 small throw pillows that after I stuff them, I'll have to figure out how to sew closed. Starting to wonder what was I thinking. 13.....When is Football season gonna start up? I already know the Bronco's 1st game isn't until 8/11, but could we fast forward please. I think I'm starting to go through withdrawals & as much fun as it is watching the Mav's make it to the Finals & The Rangers playing pretty good........... nothing beats football!!!!!! *sigh* I'll share with you on Monday a Thanksgiving Day Game memory on Monday. :-) Links to other Thursday Thirteens! |

Snaggletooth
Last week Col-Cr went to Six Flags with a friend & his Mom. On one of the rides, Col-Cr went slamming into the door & hit his mouth. As you can see; he chipped his left front tooth. The Mom took him to the front offices to file a report & get all the stuff we will need to file a claim. Xachr calls the guy the next day & is told that he didn't see anything wrong with the ride or the operator. (Highschool /College kids operate most of the rides) The guy claims he went down to the ride after they had left his office & watched it & couldn't see how the ride stopping could have caused him to slam into the door & chip his tooth. No one but Col-Cr & his friend know what happened. The Mom didn't see it nor could she see how it could have happened either as she watched the ride while the boys went to ride the Titan. (Won't be wanting them to call her as a witness in the claim. LOL!)
Xachr told the guy "Look, I'm not out to get rich here; I just think you guys need to pay the bill. But I can call my lawyer if you'd like & we can go that route." To which the guy said to call him after we see the dentist & he'll start the paperwork. We're planning on going to Six Flags & checking the ride out ourselves. Maybe even getting Col-Cr in the ride to show us how it happened.
The dentist quoted me $120 (to just file if that is possible) to $330 for bonding the tooth. Of course there is a $65 emergency office visit (mind you this happened last week so where's the emergency?) They have to take xrays & probably everything else they can think of to jack up the cost. Of which, if Six Flags doesn't cover the costs; will come out of my pocket & frankly; after we get Xachr's paychecks; we're broke. Too broke to cover a $330 dentist visit.
To me, the chip doesn't look that bad that I'm really hoping (not that anything ever goes the way I want it to) they can just file that left tooth straight & then the other one to match. IMHO, his front teeth are longer than the rest of his teeth anyway.......... I'm probably reaching here.
Anyway, Col-Cr's appt was set up for the 15th but they called while I was in the shower with a cancellation for today so I better get us together. Neo-Pa & Pac-Cr are going to stay at a friend's house as this appt could take up to an hour or longer depending on what they have to do. Pray for us friends......

Shami was a chocolate poodle. I am highly allergic to dog hair & poodles are considered to be one of the few allergy free animals as they don't shed. Shami treated my sister & I like sisters. She wouldn't come to us when we called her; instead she turn her pom-pom tail our way, nose in the air & go to Mom. She knew all kinds of tricks. If you did your finger like a gun & went "BANG', she'd play dead. Mom would tell her to pray and she'd bow her head. Did the usual roll over, sit pretty. She was so trained that even a squirrel across the street would not entice her to leave her yard. Oh she'd stand on the curb with her well manicured toenails & whine but she would not step onto the street. She LOVED pecans. Oh & for some crazy reason could catch locusts in her mouth & would not let Mom get them out. It was gross to see Mom pry open her mouth & a locust would fly out. EWWWWWW. My Grandparents had a apricot poodle & so every get together we'd take Shami with us & the 2 dogs got along great. We were there at least once a week, if not more. When I was a Jr in High School we lost Shami. And it wasn't the way a dog should go; by way of old age. We were adding a masterbath onto the back of the house. The guy we hired to do the work had "accidently" let her out of the house. And well Shami loved her pecans & so she'd always go down our strip of land in the alley to the pecan tree in the front yard, get a pecan & then go to the front yard to get back in. Well the guy took off. Shut the back gate & just left. Shami piled up a bunch of pecans at the front door & then I guess she decided to head over to my Grandparent's house. Two ladies saw her running down the busy street & knew she had to be lost. They tried to catch her; which Shami always thought it was a game & ended up getting hit by a car. They took her to the vet immedately but there was no way to save her. When we got home from school; we were greated with a note from a police officer on the door telling us what had happened. The contractor said he didn't even know we had a dog; oh please. The vet kept her collar & my parents let them dispose of her body. Which I wish they'd have let us bury her instead. It took us several years to get over losing Shami. She was a great dog! We never got another pet until my parents got divorced. Mom has 2 dogs now; Murphy & Abbey; both are getting close to being 13+ years old & going down hill. Murphy can't hear & Abbey can't see. I don't know how she will manage without her girls. :-) And so that's my Monday Memory.... sad but I can smile now when I think of Shami. |

Here we go, here we go, HERE WE GO NOW!!!!!!!!
OH MY GOSH!!!!!! Last night's game was AWESOME! And honestly, I didn't bother with the 1st 3 periods. I mean when we went 18 pts down, I said "We'll see you guys in Dallas on Monday" I honestly thought the Phoenix was going to win last night. So while the game was on I started dealing with some piled up stuff in the bedroom. Listening to the game but not watching it intensly. I mean after all, Phoenix was handing us our butts last night.
But wait a minute.......... late in the 3 period we pulled with in 8, then 4, then 2 and then OMGOSH we were up by 2! Yep it took us until the 4th period to pull ahead & take the game away from the Phoenix Suns! Oh man, it was AWESOME!!!!!! First time EVER the Mav's are going to the FINALS! Can I hear a round of applause please?!?! (Sorry Lisa, I really thought you guys had that one.)
Ending score Dallas 102 Phoenix 93
Look out Miami Heat; so far last night I hear we're the favorites. Let's hope so because after church this am, I'm heading out to get a "GO MAVS" sign for the yard. Shoot I might even get a decal for the van if they win & put it right beside the Broncos on the van. :-)
Awwwwwwwwww life is good!!!!!!
Pic credit: PHOENIX - JUNE 3: Dirk Nowitzki #41 of the Dallas Mavericks embraces Steve Nash #13 of the Phoenix Suns after the Mavericks win the Western Conference Championship Series in game six of the Western Conference Finals during the 2006 NBA Playoffs at US Airways Center on June 3, 2006 in Phoenix, Arizona
Side note: In case you don't recall; Steve Nash use to play for the Mavs. He & Dirk are great friends so I imagine this was a tough loss for Nash but I betcha he'll be rooting for his buddies on Thursday! I know if the Suns had won the series I'd be cheering for them in the Finals.
