Tagged by Heather

I have to agree with Heather & Josh on the song "Baby It's Cold Outside". That is also my favorite Christmas song as well. Here is the rest of my list of favorite songs.

Of course I want to point out that I am VERY picky about WHO sings Christ-mas songs. Took me years to discover that what sounded like Christ-mas to me was Bing Crosby & the Rat Pack.

1. The First Noel
2. Silent Night
3. It's Beginning to look alot like Christmas
4. White Christmas (hahahaha living in Texas that rarely happens)
6. God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen
7. Do you Hear what I hear
8. I'll be Home for Christmas
9. Mary Did you Know
10. Grandma got ran over by a reindeer (ok ya gotta have at least one goofy song on your list)

Let me know what are your favorite Christ-mas songs are people! I have such few readers now that everyone can just join in!!!

Something to Ponder

While you are out rushing like mad to finish your holiday shopping, prepare your menus, write out your Christ-mas cards, plan for parties........ I want you to stop & think about something.

What is your central focus during the Christ-mas season?

Do you

A: No Manger & No Baby ~ Meaning it's all about Santa

B: A Manger & No Baby ~ You think it's about religion

C: A Baby but No Manger ~ You believe in Jesus is the reason for the season, but aren't sure if the rest of it is true.

D: A Manger & A Baby ~ God became flesh by way of being born in the way of Jesus, was laid in the manger for us in order to bring us back to him through a relationship.

Friends, I can't begin to tell you how frustrated I become as year after year this beautiful miracle has been shoved aside for the big red guy. It's all about the latest & greatest gifts for ourselves, family & friends. A lot of people focus on their traditions & the commericialism of the season when we should be focusing on why we actually celebrate. So I beg of you sometime during this month to stop & think about the most awesome gift you could ever receive & to think ...............

WHO IS IN THE MANGER?
God
Man
Hope
Salvation

Bummer!

I tell you the news stations around here are hilarious! We've been hearing since Thanksgiving about this "Artic Blast" that was due to come in. They made such a big deal out of it in the days coming. Then it arrived. Yep we are several degrees colder. Yes we had some sleet, some freezing rain & some snow. But what I don't get is why did the news have to cover this "Artic Blast" for the ENTIRE day? I'm serious here folks. The news was on from 4:30 am until 7pm.

Now I know the overpasses & bridges are iced over; the city streets were fine. The major school districts were in session; despite the kids pleads. It wasn't fun getting out in 20 degree weather to get them but we survived. There's a whole bunch of sub's in this area & I kid you not; there was a news reporter in just about every area reporting on the weather & road conditions all day long.

"We're going to check in on Suzy up in Denton now. Suzy, what's going on there?"

"Well Megan, there's some sleet falling, you can hear it hit my hat & the roads don't look to bad here. The police are reporting a few minor accidents."

"Thanks Suzy. We're now going to check in with Sean over in Arlington. Sean how's it looking over there?"

"Well Megan, there's some sleet falling. You can hear it hit my hat & the roads don't look too bad. Police are reporting some minor accidents. Of course the bridges & overpasses are bad so please be careful."

"Thanks Sean. Now we'll visit with Tim over in Fort Worth, Tim?"

ETC. ALL DAY PEOPLE! ALL STINKIN DAY! Seriously you'd have thought we had 10 feet of snow dumped on us instead of a little sleeting. DROVE ME CRAZY. And yet I had to keep it on "just in case" our school district decided to have an early release. Which they didn't. But still that's the only way I'd have known. Just crazy!

I will say having a minivan with sliding side doors is not fun when they get iced shut! For 2 mornings I had a booger of a time opening the side doors due to the ice. It took deicer & me using the scrapper to clear the tracks out. Never had that happen before.

Yesterday we were back up in the 40's & we'll bounce from 40-50 for the next week. I'm ok with that. Having 80 degree weather in December urks me. LOL! It is now starting to feel like Christmas.

Have a great weekend all! I'm off to get my day going. Despite the still sleeping people in the house.
